  • Your enthusiasm and creativity are great for building a new organization from scratch, inspiring your team to experiment with Agentic AI and vector search.
  • You can quickly iterate and pivot in early product-market fit environments, matching the role's need for fast testing and adaptation.
  • You'll enjoy connecting with customers and translating their feedback into product ideas, energizing the feedback loop between field and engineering.
  • But owning a global number and maintaining disciplined forecasting will likely feel restrictive, as you prefer flexibility over strict revenue accountability.
  • The need to build repeatable playbooks and qualification criteria from scratch requires structure you may find tedious, leading to inconsistent execution.
  • Leading a large, distributed team demands consistent people management and career development, which can drain your spontaneous, idea-driven energy.
  • Representing MongoDB externally with executive presence may be a stretch, as you prefer informal, creative interactions over formal public speaking.
  • Co-selling with core field sales as a force-multiplier requires steady follow-through and technical credibility, which may not align with your big-picture focus.

MongoDB is seeking a Vice President, Global Specialization Leader to build and scale a world-class specialist organization focused on our highest-growth, highest-innovation product surfaces: Agentic applications, Voyage AI, Vector Search, and Analytics. This is a foundational, builder-oriented leadership role for someone who thrives at the intersection of emerging technology, early-stage product-market fit, and enterprise go-to-market execution.

This leader will own the global specialist motion end-to-end — driving revenue, shaping product direction through frontline signal, and building a team of Specialist Sales and Specialist Solutions/Systems Architects that can sell, demo, and pilot next-generation AI-native workloads with speed and credibility.

We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in Austin, NYC, Palo Alto, or San Francisco for our hybrid working model.
