<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Afar is seeking an Email Marketing Manager to lead our email newsletter efforts with a focus on newsletter production and lifecycle optimization. This position reports to the Editorial Director, Newsletters. You’ll help drive success of Afar’s award-winning travel journalism in inboxes around the world, using best-in-class email practices and growth tactics to build deeper relationships with our readers. It's an exciting opportunity to join a mission-driven brand at the forefront of travel media and innovation.</span></p>\n<p></p><p><br></p><b>Job Responsibilities</b><ul><li>NEWSLETTER PRODUCTION (30% of the role):</li><li>Build and deploy both editorial and marketing sends on a daily basis, ensuring all necessary assets are in hand before deployment date.</li><li>Oversee accuracy, consistency, and efficiency in all newsletter deployments.</li><li>Plan and manage A/B testing with a goal of continuous improvement.</li><li>Participate in regular brainstorming sessions to optimize campaign performance and newsletter templates.</li><li>Manage all of AFAR’s newsletter lists and segments, balancing the needs of the reader and the business.&nbsp;</li><li>Develop, manage and analyze ongoing reporting to provide actionable insights and intel.</li></ul><div><br></div><ul><li>ACQUISITION and RETENTION (70% of the role):</li><li>Manage and optimize growth acquisition efforts such as sweepstakes, on-site sign ups, cross-promotions, referral rewards programs, and partnerships.</li><li>Provide insights and execute against onboarding, winback, and retention series to identify optimization opportunities.</li><li>Execute initiatives that drive loyalty and engagement. This might include personalization, trigger emails or drip campaigns.</li><li>Develop clear reporting in order to monitor, analyze, and present key performance metrics (e.g., open rates, CTR, deliverability).</li><li>Ensure email list and deliverability health by employing best practices for list hygiene and segmentation.</li><li>Stay on top of industry trends in email, media, and audience behavior to inform innovation.</li></ul><p><br></p><b>Requirements</b><ul><li>3+ years of proven email marketing experience in lifecycle management and automation; preferably in media.</li><li>Technical proficiency with SaaS tools, email platforms, Canva, and automation workflows (e.g., Marigold Sailthru, Asana).</li><li>Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.</li><li>Adaptable, accountable, and collaborative with a history of successfully owning processes from concept to execution.</li><li>Experience with <a rel="noopener noreferrer" class="postings-link" href="http://parse.ly">Parse.ly</a>, Google Analytics and affiliate a plus.</li></ul><div><br></div><div>You are: </div><ul><li>A team player who finds satisfaction in both contributing ideas and doing the work to make them happen.</li><li>Organized and have a strong attention to detail.</li><li>Passionate about travel.</li></ul><p><br></p><p></p>\n<div>$80,000 - $95,000 a year</div>\n<br/><br/>Please mention the word **FANTASTICALLY** and tag RNDYuMTg4LjIwOC4yMDY= when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RNDYuMTg4LjIwOC4yMDY=).
