  • Your natural enthusiasm and collaborative spirit can foster strong ties with the WebGPU team and community.
  • You are driven by a desire to help the team succeed, which aligns with the project's goals.
  • Your empathetic communication eases the review process and strengthens relationships.
  • Your preference for group harmony may make it hard to push back on scope creep or prioritize effectively.
  • The highly technical, isolated nature of bug fixing may lack the interpersonal interaction you thrive on.

The role

You will help the Firefox WebGPU team clear its backlog of correctness and security bugs in wgpu, Firefox’s WebGPU implementation, so WebGPU can ship on Linux and Android. You will take on well-defined, prioritized issues, land fixes upstream in the open-source wgpu project and in Gecko, and free the core team to focus on the remaining release-blocking work.
