  • Your hands-on, practical approach is ideal for diving into real bugs and fixing them quickly.
  • You excel at diagnosing complex systems issues, a key skill for wgpu and graphics debugging.
  • Your calm under pressure helps you handle security or fuzzer bugs with focus.
  • Your independence thrives in a contract role with defined tasks and minimal supervision.
  • Your aversion to heavy planning and process may clash with the need to follow strict testing and review protocols.

The role

You will help the Firefox WebGPU team clear its backlog of correctness and security bugs in wgpu, Firefox’s WebGPU implementation, so WebGPU can ship on Linux and Android. You will take on well-defined, prioritized issues, land fixes upstream in the open-source wgpu project and in Gecko, and free the core team to focus on the remaining release-blocking work.
