Senior Motion Designer & Editor (m/f/div)

JOB PURPOSE

This position sits in our Creation & Marketing service based in Germany. We combine data, technology, creative content, and paid media to crack brands’ business problems & drive revenue through a variety of digital marketing solutions. Our clients include eBay, Zalando, Merck, Palfinger or Brother.

As a Senior Motion Designer & Editor, you turn complex concepts into captivating visual narratives through top-tier motion, editing, and art direction. You bring a refined eye for timing, pacing, composition, and craft, with a proven ability to define motion languages that capture attention and elevate brands. From shaping early creative concepts and motion systems to guiding the team through final polish, you own the creative process from end-to-end.

In this role, you will lead the creation of high-impact video content that makes brands stand out across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Facebook. As a Senior, you operate with high autonomy, guiding and mentoring mid-level/junior motion designers while collaborating seamlessly with creative directors, strategists, copywriters, and account leads.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Drive Motion Direction: Set, define, and pitch the overarching visual and motion direction for key projects—from initial discovery through to final delivery.
• Establish Motion Systems: Design comprehensive styleframes, visual systems, and motion guidelines that define a brand’s movement and narrative identity.
• Lead Social & Campaign Content: Art direct and edit high-performing short-form and long-form video content tailored for modern social ecosystems and multi-platform campaigns.
• Advanced Motion & Animation: Craft high-end motion graphics, custom animated typography, smooth transitions, and visual effects, elevating static assets into dynamic brand experiences.
• Master Pacing & Retention: Apply an expert understanding of timing, narrative rhythm, and platform best practices to maximize audience retention and engagement.
• End-to-End Creative Polish: Direct the full post-production vision, integrating sound design, music, color grading, and finishing touches to deliver broadcast-quality output.
• Team Guidance & Quality Control: Guide and review the work of other motion designers, ensuring strict adherence to project visions, client brand identities, and high craft standards.
• Pioneer Workflows & AI Tools: Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and AI tools, integrating innovative techniques to elevate team workflows and creative output.

WHAT YOU BRING:

• Visual Judgment & Creative Leadership: Strong aesthetic vision and confidence in shaping concepts, setting creative direction, and guiding other motion designers on the team.
• Art Direction Mindset: Proven experience as a Motion Designer with an Art Director’s eye for branding, design quality, and overarching visual storytelling.
• Excellence in Craft: Solid, high-level motion design skills with a fine-tuned sense of timing, framing, pacing, and narrative rhythm.
• Styleframes & Visual Systems: Hands-on confidence in creating high-end styleframes, scalable visual systems, and narrative-driven motion concepts.
• Retention-Focused Editing: An expert grasp of editing and pacing designed to captivate audiences and maximize view time and engagement.
• Innovation & AI Curiosity: Genuine enthusiasm for emerging AI tools and new technologies, with an interest in exploring how they can optimize creative workflows across the team.
• Trend Awareness: A sharp eye for social media trends, emerging visual culture, and contemporary editing techniques.
• Standout Portfolio / Showreel: A strong portfolio or showreel showcasing high conceptual thinking, exceptional craft, and top-tier execution.
• Language Skills: Native or full professional fluency in German (spoken and written) to collaborate seamlessly with clients and team members, alongside strong English skills.
